Caring Community Find

Every dollar you give to the Caring Community Fund is matched $2 for every $1, tripling the difference you make in the lives of our neighbors.

Thanks to a generous grant from Lilly Endowment’s Giving Indiana Funds for Tomorrow (GIFT) Initiative, we’re able to offer this special match to our Caring Community and unrestricted funds through December 31, 2025 — but we only have $40,000 left to raise to unlock the full opportunity.

In 2024 alone, we awarded $176,316 from the Caring Community Fund and other unrestricted funds to strengthen programs and services that improve lives every day. Gifts to the Caring Community Fund help power our Community Impact Grants, providing resources to local nonprofits making a difference every day.

When you give to the Caring Community Fund, you’re not just supporting one cause, you’re investing in wellbeing of our entire community. Your gift helps local nonprofits meet needs, spark growth, and respond to new challenges across LaGrange County.

Gifts to the Caring Community Fund help power our Community Impact Grants, providing resources to local nonprofits making a difference every day.

Join us in building a stronger, more caring LaGrange County — where every gift creates lasting change! Your impact will be tripled through this special opportunity.

Driving Community Connection

Thanks to support from the Caring Community Fund, the LaGrange County Council on Aging received a $25,000 Community Impact Grant to build a new garage for its LaGrange County Area Transit (LCAT) vehicles.

As the county’s only public rural transportation provider, LCAT helps hundreds of residents get to medical appointments, work, and essential services both in and outside of the county.

“The need for a new garage is critical to maintaining and expanding the transportation services that many residents rely on for their daily needs. Community support through donations and advocacy is essential to the success of this program.”

— Cheri Perkins, COA Executive Director

Feeding Futures

Through the support of the Caring Community Fund, LaGrange County Hope received a $10,000 grant to expand its youth food delivery program.

Each week, the program provides meal packs to nearly 450 children across all three LaGrange County school districts. For many families, these deliveries fill the gap between school meals and ensure that no child goes hungry over the weekend.

“The need is greater than ever. Each pack represents care, nourishment, and stability for a child who might otherwise go without.”
