Applying for a Grant

In collaboration with the United Way of Elkhart & LaGrange Counties, we are combining efforts to respond to needs that arise from COVID-19.

Together, the organizations are determined to provide long-term recovery in LaGrange County that is directly connected to COVID-19.

The Good Samaritan Fund at the Community Foundation will be used to support the community response to COVID-19. Donations made to the Good Samaritan Fund will support the COVID-19 Recovery Grants, ensuring local nonprofits have the ability to continue to provide critical services.

 

Who Can Apply

  • LaGrange County 501(c)3 Nonprofit organizations

Government agencies, public schools, and churches are not eligible to apply

 

Applications Guidelines

  • Nonprofits who have established new programs to help with COVID-19 related needs
  • Nonprofits facing a reduction in operating revenue and general support
  • Nonprofits who have canceled fundraising events which had a significant impact on their ability to carry out their mission

Application Deadline: November 5, 2020 

Application Award: December 2020

 

How to Apply

The Foundation has an online grant application process. Please review our grant guidelines to determine if your proposal aligns with them. You may be required to upload a few documents in the online application. We recommend you have them easily available in PDF format:

  • Project/Program Budget
  • Current Financial Position
  • List of organization's current Board of Directors
  • Copy of your organization's 501 (c)(3) determination letter

Applications must be submitted via our online process by November 5, 2020, at 5 p.m. Grant seekers are strongly encouraged to contact the Grant Manager to discuss funding needs before applying.
