Types of Funds


Field of Interest Fund

A field of interest fund that will support the cause(s) you care about, such as the arts, education, health and human services, or the environment. You can direct your donation to a specific field of interest fund you would like to support or you can request the staff to make a recommendation. 

Donor Advised Fund

A donor-advised fund allows donors to make a charitable contribution, receive an immediate tax benefit and then recommend grants from the fund over time.

Donor Designated Fund

A donor designated fund allows you to create a permanent stream of income for an organization(s) of your choice in LaGrange County.  This a wonderful option if you have a not-for-profit organization that you would like to help ensure it's sustainability.

Scholarship Fund

Scholarship funds help support college bound students in their effort to attain higher education.  All scholarship payments are sent directly the the accredited college chosen by the student.

Unrestricted Fund

Unrestricted funds are funds are available for the not-for-profit to use for any purpose.  The community foundation's Board of Directors identify the needs in the community and use these funds to fill those needs.

Agency Fund

An agency fund is established by not-for-profit organizations and their supporters to establish a permanent endowment fund to support the charity in perpetuity.

Acorn Fund

Acorn Funds are one of the best ways to invest in the future of our community. Through regular contributions, these endowments grow in much the same way that retirement funds do. For many, this is a much more realistic way to reach the $10,000 minimum required to establish an endowment fund. They’re also a tax-deductible way to ensure your charitable gifts last forever.

Legacy Society

The Legacy Society of the LaGrange County Community Foundation was created to recognize and acknowledge individuals who are committed to LaGrange County and have shown that commitment by including LaGrange County Community Foundation in their estate planning.
